    yes, this will increase your strength and muscle mass, and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn throughout the day, even when resting and sleeping.
    However, you may not see that much of a difference in your weight(on the scale). For one becuase muscle weights more than fat (you could even gain weight), and two becuase you are only gaining muscle in a few areas of your body. However, you will probably have less body fat, more lean muscle, and will start to look a slightly more toned or possibly thinner.

    what you need: is to do exercises that will also target other areas of your body, that way you are gaining muscle and strength throughout your body, and will burn more calories, and look more toned.

    Also, If your looking to lose more than five pounds I would suggest adding at least twenty minutes of cardio 3-6 days a week to really boost weight loss and have a leaner body mass.
