<p>First of all, immediately ban any and all types of sugar from what you eat.  Sugar will add empty calories that you don&#8217;t need and will hinder your weight loss. So what is this great never before seen plan?  No such thing here, instead of giving you the &#8220;best&#8221; plan &#8211; which I wouldn&#8217;t know, because I don&#8217;t know you, I will tell you how to find the best program for you.</p>
<p>Like I said, I am not going to give you a specific plan.  So what I am I going to give you?  Basically some advice that can make your training far more effective which means you will get results that are far more effective.  And that is what you should be looking for &#8211; and it is a pretty simple piece of advice that is easily implemented.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s the tip already?  It probably is no secret to you that you need to focus on progressively increasing the weight used in your training.  No secret there, but can you tell me right now what you were bench pressing last month &#8211; how much, how many times, etc, and what you did last week?  You probably can guess, but unless you are writing down your results and tracking them, how do you know that you are really progressing?  You probably will say that you can lift more &#8211; that&#8217;s great, but you could lift even more if you knew what you did last and did all you could to exceed that last effort &#8211; this will truly result in progressive resistance.</p>
<p>What you need to focus on is reaction to stimulus. Yes, you need to scientifically study your own muscles reaction to the weight resistance training that you are engaging in. Don&#8217;t worry, it sounds complicated, but it&#8217;s not. So here&#8217;s the deal &#8211; put together in writing a weight lifting routine &#8211; anything that you are comfortable with. I am not giving you the routine as not everyone will be able to work out the same number of days or like the same exercises, but just put one together that is challenging and different from the one you are doing now.</p>
<p>No secret routine here, no magic workout that is going to pack on 10 pounds of muscle mass in two weeks.  Instead, I am going to give you basic no-fail advice.  Start lifting heavier weights at lower reps till failure.  In fact, you should pyramid up something like 6 reps, 3 reps, 1 rep all to failure.  You are giving yourself progressive resistance.  Next step is key &#8211; track you progress.  If you are not progressing, change up the routine and try something different &#8211; it is that simple &#8211; plan, track progress, adjust as needed.  If you don&#8217;t track, you are not living up to your potential.</p>
<p>Heavy progressive weight to failure will work very well for most &#8211; as long as you really are doing it to failure, but if for some reason it isn&#8217;t working for you &#8211; try a different methodology and track it.  Make sure you give sufficient time &#8211; 4-6 weeks to make sure a program is working.  If you track you progress, you will know &#8211; if you don&#8217;t, you are just guessing.</p>
<p>By now, you should realize that tracking your progress can make a big difference in your muscle gain.  If you can&#8217;t take the time to track your changes by writing down your weight and reps &#8211; and do this in the gym &#8211; then you aren&#8217;t dedicated.  If you really want to build muscle optimally, you have to track your routines.  Once you get that down, you need to start tracking your rest and your food intake.  Of course, if you want to be average, you don&#8217;t need to do any of that.  Remember, intuitive is not enough.</p>

<p><b>2. Viewing whole grains as healthy.</b> Whole grains are definitely better than Twinkies, but they&#8217;re not the holy grail of arm fat loss. If you lead a highly sedentary lifestyle, whole grains should NOT be a big part of your diet.</p>
<p><b>3. Assuming supplementation is fine.</b> I have some shocking news: supplements are not regulated in the U.S. There could be anything in that bottle. Just because there is some certification on the label doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s healthy.</p>
<p><b>4. Allowing more than 5 hours pass between meals.</b> Optimally, you want to eat every 3 hours for a wide variety of physiological reasons. 5 hours, however, is the absolute limit. Once you go past this time frame, arm-fat burning muscle gets wasted away.</p>
<p>Your quest to get toned arms should be as short as possible. The longer you have to plug away the higher the chances of abandonment. And if you avoid the above mistakes, you can save yourself a lot of time and headache. After all, getting sexy arms should be relatively fun, not a pain in the butt, good luck!</p>
