<p>So, how does one become genuinely happy? Step 1 is to love yourself.  My theology professor once said that &#8220;loving means accepting.&#8221;  To love oneself means to accept that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections must lie a great ounce of courage to be able to discover ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes. </p>
<p>Some people believe that great leaders are made, not born. Yes, it may be true that some people are born with natural talents. However, without practice, without drive, without enthusiasm, and without experience, there can be no true development in leadership. First of all, let&#8217;s define leadership. To be a leader, one must be able to influence others to accomplish a goal, or an objective. <p>Contrary to what most people believe, leadership is not about power. It is not about harassing people or driving them using fear. It is about encouraging others towards the goal of the organization. It is putting everyone on the same page and helping them see the big picture of the organization. You must be a leader not a boss.</p>
<p>First of all, you have to get people to follow you. How is this accomplished? People follow others when they see a clear sense of purpose. People will only follow you if they see that you know where you are going. Remember that bumper sticker? The one that says, don&#8217;t follow me, I&#8217;m lost too? The same holds true for leadership. If you yourself do not know where you&#8217;re headed to, chances are people will not follow you at all.</p>
<p>How to be genuinely happy in spite all these? I tell you&#8230; every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, helping a friend, taking care of your sick dog, fail on board exams and trying again, life gives you equivalent points for that. </p>

We are not talking here about little slipups where you ate a slice of pie that was not on the plan, but big mistakes that lead to failure to lose the weight that you want to lose. Understanding these errors can help you develop the attitude that will lead to permanent weight loss for you.</p>
<p>1. Excessive commitment</p>
<p>Some dieters will put together a hideously complex and detailed diet, covering every possible eventuality, and addressing every little thing they have ever heard of. They carefully collect all the ingredients they will need, maybe weeks in advance, and meticulously schedule each meal. What they fail to take account f though, is human nature. What happens if you schedule says you&#8217;re supposed to eat carrots today, and you suddenly feel like you can&#8217;t stand them, and you want to eat something else instead. Complicated diets rarely have the flexibility necessary to adapt to changing schedules and preferences, and once a diet like this is broken, it will just be broken again and again until you might as well not bother.</p>
<p>If this is the way you were planning on dieting, you may need to do some re thinking. If you are really serious about losing weight permanently, then you will get much better results making small changes, one after the other, then making huge changes all at once. Remember, slow weight loss is better than no weight loss!</p>
<p>2. Making Sacrifices</p>
<p>Another common mistake is to view your diet as a period of sacrifice. You do not allow yourself the foods that you enjoy most while you are on your way to your target weight. You may have a great diet plan and be very successful in losing weight, but what happens when you reach your goal? You have not learned to eat &#8216;bad foods&#8217; in moderation so as soon as you start, you are likely to go out of control. It is better to include a little of everything in your diet and learn to enjoy it in small quantities. Yes, even chocolate!</p>
<p>3. Goals</p>
<p>To reach your goal, you first have to clearly spell out what your goal is. Now, there are plenty of other articles and books on goal setting so I don&#8217;t need to go into it in depth here, but it&#8217;s enough to say that you need to have short term and long term goals, which can be objectively measured. For example, to lose an average of two pounds per week for the next three months. This is a reasonable, useful goal, and it will encourage you to track your progress, so that you can see that even if you are only making a small improvement each week, at least you are gradually getting closer and closer to your ideal weight.</p>
<p>If you have been making these mistakes, do not worry. The most important point in dieting as in so many other things is to move on. Learn from your failures as well as your success and do not use a mistake as an excuse for giving up. The only way to achieve your goal permanently is to make a commitment to become a healthier person. Remember that eating normally includes eating more some days and less others. Learn to enjoy food in moderation and you have every chance of avoiding these bad diet mistakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Obesity is an ever increasing problem, and so more and more people are trying to find ways to lose their excess weight. In this article, I look at how a personal trainer can help you use exercise to lose fat and get back in shape.</p>
<p>Usually when someone wants to lose weight, the first thing they do is find a diet to try. Unfortunately, diets can be difficult to follow, as they require a lot of commitment and self discipline, which is more than most people have. Certainly more then me &#8211; I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever been able to keep to a diet for more than a couple of months, as they always seem to involve giving up eating anything that&#8217;s actually tasty. Instead, I found a different way to lose weight, which works much better.</p>
<p>The best way I have found to lose weight, is to exercise. Get lots of exercise, all kinds, as often as possible, and it doesn&#8217;t matter what you eat. And exercise doesn&#8217;t just mean going to the gym &#8211; there are a lot of other options available, that don&#8217;t involve being stared at by lots of other people in better shape than you are.</p>
<p>The method I most recommend is hiring a personal trainer. Now, your first thought might be that this is going to be expensive, and that personal trainers are only for people with plenty of money to burn. This isn&#8217;t true. A lot of gyms now have personal trainers and fitness coaches attached to them, or who advertise locally, and don&#8217;t charge nearly as much as you might expect. These people are specially trained in teaching exercise, and will come to your house to show you how to do it right.</p>
<p>You may have already tried to find a personal trainer, perhaps even had your first session, only to discover that it&#8217;s not for you. Well, don&#8217;t worry about it. Personal trainers are people too &#8211; just because you had one bad experience, doesn&#8217;t men they are all like that, you just have to keep looking until you find a trainer who you can connect to and work with.</p>
<p>My personal trainer has been a great help. He keeps me focused, keeps pushing me forward, and thanks to his encouragement I&#8217;m doing better (and looking better) than I ever have before! He knows just how to motivate me to do my best, and together we&#8217;ve put together a detailed future plan of action, leading up to the final goals that I&#8217;ve always wanted to achieve but never thought I would be able to. As well as showing me the best ways to exercise, he&#8217;s actually made some very god suggestions about food, showing me a few foods to avoid, and a few that turned out to be unexpectedly tasty.</p>
<p>Hiring my personal trainer was, without a doubt, the best thing I have ever done &#8211; well worth the money. For anyone, absolutely anyone, who thinks they need to lose some weight, I woudl have no hesitation in recommending him to them. I don&#8217;t need to lose any more weight myself, but I&#8217;m still working hard, and still looking better and better every week.</p>
<p>The trainer has even stated that I am likely to actually gain weight in the future as certain muscles grow. I will not be fat though, I will be toned and a little but muscular. I look forward to the future and can also now for the first time in a number of years enjoy shopping for clothes.</p>

<p>You will lose weight very quickly for the first few weeks but after that, you will suddenly discover that the scale is not going down anymore! You are not losing any more weight than what you have lost already. You have hit a situation commonly known as weight loss plateau. In such situations, the only remedy is a complete overhaul of your lifestyle habits.</p>
<p>You will hit a plateau once your body has adapted to your level of exercise and diet. So if you keep doing the same exercises, and eating the same foods, your body will get used to it, and you won&#8217;t lose any more weight. Once you get to this point, keeping to your diet won&#8217;t bring you any more benefit, but if you stop dieting you&#8217;ll start to gain the weight back! The only way to succeed, is to change your diet and exercise plan.</p>
<p>Here are two methods you need to follow to get out of the weight loss plateau.</p>
<p>1. Calorie-counting is not essential: If you keep your calorie intake too low, your body won&#8217;t have enough energy available, and it will slow down its metabolism to compensate. You need to make sure that you have enough calories coming in to keep your internal fires burning, as it were &#8211; if your metabolism is too low, you won&#8217;t be able to burn enough fat, and you won&#8217;t lose any weight. So a good diet should not just be about reducing the amount you eat. You also need to think about the kinds of foods you eat, as well as making sure that you get enough to maintain your metabolic rate &#8211; this is a lot more complicated than just counting calories!</p>
<p>2. Exercise: You can&#8217;t just diet &#8211; you need to exercise, as well, if you want to be really successful. If you&#8217;re only doing light exercise, or not exercising at all, then you are not doing everything you can to lose weight. Dieting alone is really not enough &#8211; it is equally important that you exercise, as well. This helps to keep your metabolic rate high, as well as burning fat directly.</p>
<p>Follow these two methods, and you&#8217;ll be amazed at how much more weight you can lose!</p>
