2 SOHI Fitness How To Gain Strength & Burn Fatwww.sohifitness.com to learn more about Megan’s classes and how to lose weight.

There are 9 exercises. Each exercise is done for 1 minute one after another without stopping until all 9 are done. Any weight of dumbbells can be used.

Here are the exercises:

Bicep Curls – Resting your elbows on the front and side of your abs, curl all the way down and up keeping your wrist straight.

Shoulder Press – Start with your arms at right angles and your dumbbells at eye level and push up until your arms are straight, go back down to eye level.

Squats – Squat down until your thighs are parallel to the floor while holding the dumbbells at your sides. Do not let your knees go over your toes.

Lateral Raise – Slightly bent over, with your arms bent at a little more than right angles, raise the dumbbells with wrists straight until your arms are parallel to the ground. Bring them back down with your hands meeting each other palms facing each other and then go back up again.

Push-ups – With your dumbbells on the ground, go down until your arms are at 90 degrees and push-up back up.

Abdominal Pull-ups – Stand with dumbbells pushed together in front of you and keeping feet in the same place go all the way down until you are laying down on your back. Keeping the dumbbells together and feet on the ground stand back up.

Squats – Squat down until your thighs are parallel to the floor while holding the dumbbells at your sides. Do not let your knees go over your toes.

Weighted Crunches – With one dumbbell resting on each shoulder, slowly crunch up and down.

Overhead Press – With dumbbells pushed together and arms up by your ears, slowly lower the weights as low as comfortable for your elbows and back up as straight as you can without compromising the elbow.

Note: It is not ideal to go really far down with weights in this exercise as it can ultimately hurt the elbow with repetitive motion or heavy weights. It is safe to do in a range and weight where you feel no discomfort.

Whether you want to workout at a gym or health club, or do it from the comfort of your own home, the elliptical trainer is the machine for you. It is now a very popular exercise machine due to the excellent cardio workout you get, with very low impact on your joints, so far fewer injuries and a lot less pain. This means a huge range of people can use them, even those with more brittle bones or with existing injuries. For both weight loss and fitness the elliptical trainer works out all of the body, upper and lower, and makes a very wise investment. So here is a little advice if you are thinking of buying one.

The wide range of choice means there is an elliptical trainer for nearly everyone and prices range from $500 to $5000 but you do get what you pay for. The component to be focused on when buying an elliptical is the flywheel. It is what makes the circular motion of exercise and is also what allows you to change resistance to increase your workout intensity.

The lower priced machines, while tempting at their affordability, have components that just won’t last that long. The flywheels are cheaply made and use belts to create resistance. After not a lot of use these belts will need replacing. Ideally if you can afford it, look for an elliptical machine that has a flywheel that uses a magnetic system to alternate electrical current to get the required resistance changes.

The position of a flywheel can also change from model to model. Traditionally it has been usual for machines to have one large flywheel places at the rear of the trainer. But this makes the trainer quite big and bulky. More modern elliptical designs have changed from using 1 large flywheel to 2 smaller ones that can be placed next to each other, making the trainer shorter, but fatter. Some claim the latter deign adds to its stability and gives a more smooth workout motion.

Warranty is very important. You must make sure you have some form of warranty on the flywheel. At the least you should expect a year to be covered, but there are companies that offer more, even as much as 5 years. Stick with known and trusted brands so that you know the warranty will be honoured.
