The joint between our foot and legs where movement occurs in two planes is the ankle. It is the part of our body that allows us to withstand 1.5 times of our body weight when we walk and up to eight times of said weight when we run. The second one is the fibula which is also known as the small bone outside of the ankle. Lastly is the talus or commonly known as the foot bone. Aside from bones, there also two joints that makes up the ankle, namely the subtalar and the true ankle joint. The one responsible for the side to side motion of the feet is the subtalar joint, while the one who allows the up and down movement is the true ankle joint. Inside these joints is a slick materials called articular cartilage which keeps a smooth movement of the bones against each other.

Aside from the aforementioned bones and joints, the ankle’s structure is also made up of ligaments and tendons, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. Ligaments are the soft tissues that attach bones to bones while tendons are the tissues that attach muscles to bones. The ligaments that make up the ankle are the deltoid ligament, anterior talofibular ligament, the posterior ligament, and the calcaneofibular ligament while the Achilles tendon, posterior tibial tendon, and the anterior tibial tendon are the nearby tendons that support the ankle joint. All the parts work together to handle the stress the ankle receives when one walks, runs, or jumps. As such, the use of ankle protectors is a must to protect these parts that make up the ankle.

Although you might be spending most of you time in the office, there are those lazy days when you spend time at home or attend unofficial events. At such times you do not need your normal office wear. Since you will be wearing different clothes, it is also good to think about the shoes, which should be casual. There is a major difference between casual shoes for men and those for women. For men, this might mean tennis shoes or sneakers. However, for women there are many categories.

Women will therefore consider issues such as the purpose for which they will wear each pair. It can therefore be something that will alternate from day to night or even from a dress to jeans. They also need to make a choice between heeled and flat footwear.

To make the right choice there are certain points one should have in mind. If you are wearing jeans, you should avoid stilettos. Pointy heels are best for dress outfits. The best option for jeans would be chunky high heels or wider low heels. So you can go with loafers, flat sandals and ballerina flats.

In addition to the heel type, you must consider the heel height. To do this, you have to consider the leg length. With long pants that drag the floor, high heels will appear sloppy instead of giving you the casual look that you want.

With average length pants, you can also choose the low heel. When the hem of the pants is just above or on the back of the shoe, flat footwear is the best. Therefore, classy loafers and feminine skimmers will do.

It is also good to consider who you purchase your casual shoes from. It is always good to work with a reputable retailer. If you are buying online, the provider should have a sound return policy. This will ensure that you do not end up with something you do not like.
